About Us
The Turkish Association of Legislation (YASADER) was founded in 2003 by a group of legal advisors and experts working in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
Our aim is to contribute more participatory, democratic and efficient legislative process, to develop the science and technique of legislation, to strengthen the cooperation among those taking part in the legislative process and support the civil society participation to the legislative process.
Our target group is the legal advisors and experts working in Turkish Parliament and public bodies (especially those participating legislative drafting process), academicians who are interested in parliamentary law, civil society organizations and ordinary citizens who are interested in legislative process.
The lack of communication and cooperation among the bureaucrats who take part in the legislative process in public bodies negatively affect the process. Therefore YASADER organizes special activities for the bureaucrats of Turkish Parliament, Prime Ministry, ministries and other public bodies. We also support the dialogue between those working in the public institutions and the representatives of civil society organizations.
The Turkish Association of Legislation organizes national and international seminars and panels about parliament and parliamentary processes, support exchange programs with other parliaments and similar organizations.
Journal of Legislation is a Turkish academic journal, published by Turkish Association of Legislation.
We organize tailor-made training programs for the representatives of civil society organizations to increase their capacity to participate the legislative process, especially at the parliamentary level.
